The Toddler Room is where the real fun starts!
Our toddler rooms cater for children aged from 1 year to 2 years of age. We operated at a 1:5 ratio.
Our Toddler rooms are all large open planed, airy, and spacious rooms. As our toddlers begin to grow and develop their eating patterns and sleeping patterns begin to change. They will have a transition from formula milk to solid food which is now the main source of your children’s nutrients, and the children are catered for from the main creche menu. Their sleep patterns may fluctuate but there is always plenty of opportunity for them to have quite time and sleep time in our nurseries which are physically monitored every 10 minutes.
Our Toddler Rooms
Our Toddler Room is a child-centred rich environment in which children are encouraged to explore, experiment, create, imagine, interact and ultimately to learn through the medium of play. Our experienced practitioners will encourage your toddler’s curiosity as well as promoting their social, emotional and physical development. At this stage in their development children start to discover their imagination, they being to mimic everyday activities/routines such as feeding babies, cooking in our play kitchens, washing up, roaring like dinosaur, reinciting stories such as we are going on Bear hunt. This is the age where children seek our practitioners to be role models but also, they being to develop their sense in independence, and we are here to guide them and support them through this stage of their development.
Vocabulary increases greatly at this stage .Through stories, children learn to appreciate language, gain new vocabulary, and learn to use new words and concepts. Simple songs and games are important introduction to speech patterns, sensory motor skills, development, and movement skills.
Our Toddler Rooms
In the Toddler Room, children will make their first friends and, in this process, will start to learn the concept of taking turns although a very popular word seems to be “mine” at this age!
Some of the activities in the Toddler Room are Creative Play, Role Play, Physical Play, Outdoor Play, Constructive Play, Music & Song, Imaginative Play, Drama, Sensory Play, Story Telling & Rhyme, heuristic play.
Our two creative and hardworking chefs Lisa and Gillan provide nutritious meals. We also cater for all dietary needs.
We advise a settling-in period the week before your toddler is due to start at the creche as this will help support the transitions period for both you and your toddler, allows your toddler to become familiar with their new surroundings this also gives you time to meet with your toddler’s practitioners.
